Question regarding Solomon EII
Source:Internet Author:Unknow Pubdate:2008-04-24

[b]Solomon EII[b] is an proprietary indicator designed by Solomon Associates to benchmark energy efficiency of the petroleum refinery.

My question is: when a refinery fills in Solomon's survey form, does the participating petroleum refinery know how the Solomon EII number is actually calculated? Or does Solomon Associates provides a template to show the participating refinery the detailed calculation process?

Solomon Associates provide the details of the calculation method including the factors for all processes, not just the ones you happen to have.  There's enough information there to reproduce the calculation yourself.  I've used it in the past to understand the effect on the EII of reconfiguring the refinery.

Thanks a lot for your explanations. Now I totally understand how Solomon's business model works.
