Gentlemen, I need some help with regards to the Industry Stds. to the use of Target/Cushion Tees in the Hydrocarbon industry, (IE)The prefered options, Flanged Tee's as opposed to Capped ends.
And is the build up of sands at the capped end suficient to stop the errosion of said cap over a period of time? Appreciate any help in this matter.

Deadlegs, yikes!!!  Yes, the tee will fill up and all the of your most unwanted junk will hide there.  If you have to have them, put a flange connection so you can clean them out.  I've seen several failures on tees that are used either as supports, or in gas meters, pulsation or sound wave dampeners.
